Did you know that the first Thanksgiving wasn't actually the first time something like this celebration was done? The Pilgrims were actually celebrating what is considered a harvest type festival of fun and feasting. These type Harvest Feasts were done in other countries for centuries before, but for our American history we use what the Pilgrims and Wampanoag Indians celebrated in Plymouth Rock, MA in 1621 as the 1st Thanksgiving.

Did you know that the first American Thanksgiving celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621 lasted for about 3 days?

Did you know there were more Native American  Indians attending the first American Thanksgiving than the Pilgrims? There were about 90 Wampanoag Indians celebrating with the 53 surviving Plymouth Colonists.

Did you know that Pumpkin pie probably wasn't served on the first Thanksgiving, but boiled pumpkin or a pumpkin stew might have been. This is because there wasn't much flour and dairy staples at the time of the Pilgrims celebrated in 1621.

Did you know that there might have been more deer ate than turkey at the first Thanksgiving? While historians all agree and also because someone recorded what took placed at the first Thanksgiving that there were fowl but no mention of what type of fowl was hunted and brought in to feast. The Indians brought about 5 deer for feasting.
